Rick Sheppard is an American chief engineer, programmer, sound designer and songwriter who started working with producer Dallas Austin and DARP Productions in 1987. Their first success together came with Boys II Men and later TLC.

His collaborations include Madonna, Michael Jackson, Anastacia, Kelis, P!NK, Gwen Stefani, Shakira, Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul,  Deborah Cox, Monica, Blu Cantrell, Lionel Richie, Ciara, Debra Killings and many more.

He is not to be confounded with the singer of the same name.
