Randy Waldman (1955- ) is an American keyboardist, pianist, conductor, songwriter, music producer and arranger based in California. He started his career as Frank Sinatra’s pianist and pursued as a live and studio musician for a large number of international artists. He is particularly known for his collaboration to movie soundtracks such as Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Beetlejuice, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Forrest Gump, The Bodyguard, Mission: Impossible, Titanic, Ice Age. He won two Grammy awards: one for his co-arrangement of Barbra Streisand’s song Somewhere and another for his 2019 arrangement of the “Spiderman theme” on his Superheros solo album.
He contributed to the arrangements of Amuro Namie’s 1996 album SWEET 19 BLUES and joined her band as her keyboardist. In 1997, he was responsible for the strings arrangement of CAN YOU CELEBRATE?, but as he was not available for the singer’s 1997 spring tour, he was replaced by Jetro Da Silva.
His collaborations include Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Patti LaBelle, Barbra Streisand, The Lettermen, Minnie Riperton, Lou Rawls, Paul Anka, George Benson, Paul McCartney, Céline Dion, Madonna, Olivia Newton-John, Barry Manilow, Ray Charles, Quincy Jones, Andrea Bocelli, John Travolta, Seal, Vanessa Williams, Kenny G, Bette Midler, Billy Joel, Neil Diamoind, Sheena Easton and many others.
