China Sadao (1945- ) is a famous Okinawan sanshin player who produced and founded the Okinawan four-woman band Nenes in the 1970s. Not only does he work as a solo artist, but he also regularly performs with other musicians traditional, folk and modern songs in the spirit of “shimauta” (island songs).

He played the sanshin for Amuro Namie’s 2000 song NEVER END and took part in the performance at the G8 Okinawa Summit.
