I think Singapore is a beautiful and vibrant city. Last night, I looked out of my hotel balcony and the nightscape was beautifully lit up. Really beautiful country.

And I understand that this time the fans can actually to vote their favourite Namie Amuro song on voting website. So I was wondering how did you come up with the voting idea?

I have sung many songs throughout the twenty years of my career and I really want my fans to allow me to sing the songs that they enjoy. I wanted to do this because I think now is a good time so that I can sing the songs they can truly enjoy at the concert.

In conjunc with the 20th anniversary, there’s gonna be this one-night only special live concert in miss Namie Amuro’s birthplace, Okinawa. So was it a personal request to go back to Okinawa for that one-night special?

Yes, it really means a lot to me to be able to hold a live concert in my hometown on the day I debut. I would like to go back to hometown and I trat this as a little reward. I begged my staff to do this and they made my wish come true. 

What sacrifices have you made?

For the past twenty years, I have to thank my fans and the staff who have supported me. I always try my best to meet their expectations of me. It has been a very enjoyable twenty years for me and I don’t feel that I’ve made any sacrifices. So I hope on my 21st anniversary, I can continue to enjoy music with all my fans and everybody.

Is there anything you wanted to try in your career?

During the past twenty years, there are many things I have not tried yet but sometimes I think I hesitate to take a step forward to try. I have the heart to try something new and adventurous and I hope I will be able to do that.

I would really love to have a concert in Singapore. An dif that comes true, I hope all of you  can come to my concert.
