What is the history of the title for your album “Ballada”?

“In the Provence language, I think the word means “Dance Song” and “dance”. I’m known for my strong dance music normally, so I thought the word “ballada” matched the image I was trying to create.”

Were the results of the fan voting as you expected?

“As expected “Love Story”, “Can You Celebrate?”, and “Sweet 19 Blues made it. But the an unexpected song was “Dreaming I was Dreaming”, which is fairly old, and “HimAWArI” and “Four Seasons”, too.”

From songs released in your teens to your 30s, there’s a mix of new and old in the lineup, right?

“Yes. Which side do you lean to~? When I saw that the ranking of songs was so mixed, it made me really happy!”

When you re-listen to the old songs again, so you feel anything different now than back then?

“My voice was really simple and young (laughs). Back when I was a teenager I also had very little experience with love, so I didn’t really understand the lyrics and sang very slowly and carefully. Now that I’m hearing them again as an adult, I still want to capture the song lyrics just right. What kind of feelings will I get when I sing them now?….I’m really looking forward to the lives.”
