COMMENTARY
Dear Diary, along with its double A-Side Fighter, was chosen as the theme song for the movie Death Note: Light Up the New World, inspired by the eponym manga.
Co-producer Sato Takahiro originally wanted Western artists to contribute to the original soundtrack, but knowing that Death Note achieved international recognition, he decided to choose Amuro Namie so that the audience would recognize the “power of foreign artists”.
