Amuro Imada Kitto No. 1

Amuro Imada Kitto No. 1 is variety television series that was broadcasted from October 6, 1996 to September 28, 1997.

The concept of the show consists in introducing the “No.1” items in a large variety of subjects. The first part usually shows CD rankings, but also and alternatively VHS, movies, karaoke songs, video games, photobooks, calendars, novels or manga rankings. Then food, toys and activities are tested on the set. Performers such as magicians and impressionists are also invited.

MAX and SPEED are regulary participants of the show. Not only are they present on the set, but they also play the role of reporters. They often visit local restaurants or touristic spots (such as Kinugawa Onsen in the case of MAX).

After SPEED, and later MAX, stopped to appear, comedian and opera singer Mori Kumiko became a regular.

Every week, a famous guest is invited. One of the rankings often deal with their interests, place of birth or career.

Similarly to many variety television series, participants are often seen tasting different kind of food. A chief is regularly invited on the set and sometimes, hosts and guest try their hand at cooking.

In the very first episodes, there is also a part of the show in which Amuro Namie would call a random person in Japan.

Notable episodes include Amuro Namie singing Body Feels EXIT with a young keyboard player prodigy and Amuro and MAX playing instruments together – Amuro showing her skills at the battery.
