“_genic means a person who flourishes at something. I want people to decide what kind of genic this album and I represent once they’ve listened to the album, maybe dancegenic or soundgenic. That’s why I left the underscore in front of genic.” (Amuro Namie, Vivi, July 2015)

As a consequence, the special website dedicated to the album contained several entries: radio station_genic, photo_genic, tech_genic, virtual_genic and shop_genic. The promotional live tour was also entitled LIVEGENIC. The album’s first track, ‘Photogenic’, actually inspired this title.

B Who I Want 2 B was produced by UK underground artist SOPHIE and features vocaloid Hatsune Miku. The collaboration was first held secret and Hatsune Miku’s name changed into its anagram “U hum sneak it” before the actual announcement.

The music video presents both singers in 2D and 3D animated form.

Golden Touch music video was made by PARTY NY and quickly gained international recognition. The work is described as follows: “Based on the title Golden Touch and the song lyrics, we came up with an idea to create a video that allows you to virtually experience how it feels to have a ‘golden touch.’ By placing your finger at the center of the screen, it feels as though you are touching the scene and affecting what happens inside the video.”

After the music video reached 10 million views in two months on Youtube, a second version featuring Amuro herself was released and given as a DVD bonus gift to those who bought _genic from Tower Records or LIVEGENIC venues.

Anything music video was born of a special collaboration with Google Chrome and EPOCH Inc. It is the first video clip to be produced through the browser’s extension.

The Google Chrome version was meant to offer “a brand new experience, unraveling mysteries in the standard version, and uses windows and tabs to express the music featured in the video”. Amuro Namie commented: “I hope everyone enjoys this new visual experience.”

A message written by the artist and translated into several languages was also included as a downloadabled zip file at the end of video.
