A relationship with a single mom isn’t easy. The media reported that singer Namie Amuro, 32, and comedian Atsushi Tamura, 36, of London Boots spent a week together in Arizona. Entertainment reporters are watching Amuro’s condominium 24/7, forcing the singer to constantly change hotels and stay at friends’ homes with her 11-year-old son.

According to an insider acquainted with the singer, “Namie is deeply concerned about the wellbeing of her son. He’s very introverted and it takes a while for the boy to get used to his mother’s closest staff. He’s also at a difficult age. He hasn’t been able to go home and his mother’s gone on a trip with a man. She’s worried that these circumstances are affecting him.”

For Namuro, whose own mother passed away years ago, the 11-year-old boy is the only family she has after her divorce. The tattoo on her left arm of her son’s name shows she is a doting mother. So how is Tamura, known as a playboy, coping in this relationship?

A friend of Tamura explains, “Atsushi is known as a good cook – he even hosts a TV cooking program. He’s been preparing the kind of dishes that children love, like hamburgers, desserts and just about anything. His home cooking for Amuro’s son seems to be making a difference. It appears the boy is starting to warm up to him.”

Entertainment reporter Masaru Nashimoto comments, “Tamura confirmed the possibility of marriage at the press conference after he returned from the trip… He’s probably made his mind up about Amuro, and the rest depends upon the singer’s decision in consideration of her son.”

It is conceivable that the two will tie the knot in the not too distant future.
